Why Your Outdoor AC Condenser Needs to Stay Level

Here's something most homeowners never think about - whether their outdoor condenser unit is sitting perfectly level. It sounds like a small detail. It's not.

When a condenser shifts or tilts over time, it puts stress on the refrigerant lines. That stress can lead to leaks. On top of that, an unlevel unit tends to vibrate more, which means more noise and more wear on the components inside. Drainage gets thrown off too, and that can cause water to pool where it shouldn't.

The good news is this is something we check during a routine AC maintenance visit. A bubble level placed on top of the unit tells the story fast. If the pad underneath has settled or shifted, we can address it before it turns into a much bigger repair - or worse, a full refrigerant recharge situation that could have been avoided.
