Adding square footage to your home is exciting - until you realize the existing HVAC system wasn't designed to handle it. That's the situation a lot of homeowners run into when they build an addition. The old system gets stretched thin, comfort suffers, and energy bills creep up. Getting it right from the start means designing a dedicated system sized specifically for the new space.

That's exactly what we did here in Gainesville. We installed a Goodman GLZS4BA2410A 2-ton single-stage heat pump paired with a new air handler. The Goodman line is a solid workhorse - reliable, efficient, and well-suited for Georgia's climate where you need both solid heating and cooling performance throughout the year.

The ductwork side of this job is where a lot of the real work happens. We ran all-new insulated flex duct through the open framing, routing it carefully to hit every room in the addition. When the walls are still open, we have the opportunity to design the layout properly - no shortcuts, no awkward retrofits. Every run is planned so airflow is balanced once the space is finished out.

Getting HVAC roughed in during the framing stage is the smart move. It keeps everything clean, gives us room to work, and means the system is properly integrated into the structure rather than tacked on after the fact. Once drywall goes up, that new space will be just as comfortable as the rest of the home - whether it's the middle of summer or a cold January night.
