This one was a full gut-and-replace. The homeowner in Cumming, GA had an aging system that had clearly run its course - worn outdoor unit, disorganized ductwork in the attic, the whole picture. When a system gets to that point, patching it together just doesn't make sense anymore. A complete replacement was the right call.

We installed an Amana S Series Side Discharge 3.5 Ton Heat Pump with a 17 SEER2 variable-speed compressor. That variable-speed compressor is a big deal. Instead of just flipping on at full blast and shutting off, it adjusts its output to match what the home actually needs at any given moment. That means more consistent temperatures, quieter operation, and real energy savings over time.

The indoor side got a 5 Ton AC evaporator coil paired with an 80,000 BTU 80% two-stage furnace. The two-stage furnace works on the same principle - it runs at a lower stage most of the time and only kicks into high gear when conditions call for it. Less cycling, better humidity control, and lower energy bills. It's a setup built for Georgia's climate, where you need reliable heating and cooling in the same season.

On top of the equipment swap, we re-ducted the entire attic. Old, leaky ductwork can quietly kill the efficiency of even a brand-new system. Fresh ductwork means the conditioned air actually gets where it's supposed to go - no waste, no hot or cold spots, no fighting your thermostat. The new layout is clean and properly sized to work with this system.

This is the kind of installation we take seriously from start to finish. Every component was selected to work together as a system, not just slapped in as a one-for-one swap. If your home's HVAC is getting up there in age, it's worth having a real conversation about what a full replacement could do for your comfort and your monthly bills.
